Balin Nikolay Nikolaevichworking period: 1970-1988Was born on�the 18-th of�December�1930 in�the village of�Novoe of�the Vologda Region. Originated from a�peasant family. The mother was a�housewife. The father served as�military personnel since 30-s. Finished as�lieutenant colonel. In�1954 graduated from Supreme Naval engineering Academy named after Dzerzhinskiy in�Leningrad as�an�engineer-lieutenant. From�1954 till 1958�served on�battleships of�Pacific Navy. In�1958 was transferred to�the reserve. In�1958�63�worked as�a�chief power engineer in�Vologda sovnarkhoz (soviet national economy). Then worked as�a�chief power engineer of�Cherepovetsk plant �Plywooddetail�, trust �Vologdalesstroy�. In�march 1964�according to�the summons arrived to�Syktyvkar to�work on�construction of�timber industrial complex. In�1965-66�came on�a�mission to�Sweden to�the firm, supplying the timber industrial complex with equipment. In�1968-70�Balin worked as�a�chief engineer of�STIC, and since may 1970�till august 1988�� as�a�chief executive officer. Balin was rewarded for the great success in�management of�industrial giant by�valuable state awards. In�1982 he�became laureate of�State Award USSR for working up�and instilling new technologies of�paper and cardboard production on�the bases of�using foliferous wood. In�1986 he�was conferred the rank of�Socialist Labour Hero. Since august 1988�till summer 1994�he�worked as�a�chairman of�State committee of�Komi SSR of�environmental safety. Since august 1994�was appointed the director of�Environmental safety and natural recourses Department of�Komi Republic. And simultaneously worked as�deputy of�Natural recourses and environmental safety Minister. A�member of�the Communist Party of�USSR since 1957�till 1991. By�occupation he�made part of�republican governing institutions. He�was a�great football-lover. | |

Since January�1992 till September�1994 worked as�CEO of�Credit Lyonnais Russia.
